Working as a lawyer and Partner for more than 35 years—including over a decade in law firm management—I’ve experienced first-hand the challenges of operating in a highly competitive environment, meeting demanding client expectations, and responding to the growing pressure to deliver value from every investment. These experiences have reinforced the importance of having a well-defined strategic plan aligned with an organisation’s mission and long-term purpose  

 

I began my career in a small regional practice, working as a lawyer while developing sector specialisms to support clients of all sizes. As I built and developed specialist legal teams, I expanded my management responsibilities alongside my legal work becoming the IT lead for the development of case management systems and taking up responsibility for IT at Management Board level gaining early insight into how technology, process and strategy intersect in legal service delivery.  

 

Since then, I have held various senior management positions, including both Executive and Operational Board roles, before becoming Managing Partner of a top 100 firm.  I continue to work in a law firm environment supporting senior management. 

 

My work with 3Kites includes supporting law firms through business change, merger preparation, governance maturity, operational improvement and enhancing client service delivery. This includes acting as a sounding board for Managing Partners and other senior leaders.

  • Law firm management and strategy:  strategy development and execution; risk management; leadership support for Managing Partners, CEOs, COOs and Senior Partners 

  • Business transformation and change: technology and AI adoption; business improvement programmes

  • Merger and Acquisition assessment and evaluation (including Joint Venture propositions); due diligence and stakeholder management 

  • Aligning IT strategy and roadmaps to strategic objectives, innovation in service delivery and products; case management development and rollout 

  • People strategy and organisational leadership: people strategy; Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), wellbeing, talent development; succession planning 

  • Premises strategy review, expansion, consolidation, design and fit-out 

  • Aligning pricing structures and operating models to support efficient, profitable and sustainable service delivery; improving client experience and relationship durability
