3Kites Consulting Limited -

Corporate Social Responsibility Policy

Summary

We acknowledge that running our business has an effect on society.  In particular, we have a responsibility to our clients and our employees as well as the broader community in which we operate.

We are committed to taking responsibility for our actions and encouraging a positive contribution towards improving standards for our clients and employees, minimising our impact on the environment and positively supporting charitable causes. By putting CSR into practice, we are committed, wherever possible, to:

  • Conduct ourselves responsibly and in an ethical manner.

  • Create a positive and supportive working environment.

  • Act fairly in our dealings with suppliers and other third parties.

  • Minimise our impact on the environment.

  • Support causes which align with our 3Kites principles.

Communication

We communicate this policy to our staff, clients and other stakeholders by means of our website and internal memos.

We regularly review our approach to CSR with our team as part of our 3Kites team days to raise awareness of any opportunities to improve our business processes aligned with this policy.

Responsibility and review

The directors have overall responsibility for our CSR. They have a key role in ensuring the systems and controls we have in place are effective.

All members of staff have a role to play in implementing our CSR objectives and are encouraged to make suggestions in relation to initiatives we could undertake.  If anyone has a suggestion for changes we can make, these are raised at our monthly 3Kites team day for further discussion.

Environmental Responsibility

We are committed to behaving responsibly and to minimising our impact on the environment.  We aim to achieve this in the following ways:

  • We do not occupy office space and therefore do not have direct responsibility for the power and water usage of any premises.  Our consultants work largely from home, to reduce energy consumption of work devices we encourage our staff to:

  • Ensure laptops, PCs, monitors and printers are all switched off at the plug at the end of each day, not left on standby.

  • Not leave laptops plugged in all day.

  • Only print when essential.

  • Lower the brightness level on monitors. The brighter the screen, the more power is used.

  • Turn off screen savers.

  • The majority of our work is completed remotely, when travel is required, train travel is the default method of transport.

  • We encourage virtual meetings when right to do so for our clients, we have changed our in person monthly team meetings to now be 50% online.

  • Documentation and communication is kept online thus minimising paper consumption.

  • At events where promotional merchandise is required this is sustainably sourced.

  • Old hardware is recycled and going forward will be given to charities to reuse where possible.

Philanthropic

In considering our impact on the community we have resolved to sponsor or otherwise support charities. We do this by:

  • Holding charity fundraising events (e.g. quiz nights).

  • Supporting charities with pro-bono consultancy (e.g. Christian Aid).

  • Sponsoring sports clubs with links to 3Kites employees.

  • Encouraging staff to contribute to good causes by volunteering their skills and time, we allow members of staff time off work to enable them to carry out work in support of their chosen charity and to encourage dialogue with communities and groups for mutual benefit.

Ethical Responsibility

  • We choose to work with suppliers that are ethical and sustainable.

  • We operate ethically and fairly and treat all employees, clients, suppliers with equality and with respect.

  • We set a higher than national living wage.

  • When sourcing products we will research and aim to work with ethically sound companies.

Employment Responsibility

  • We seek to offer our staff a positive, supportive and healthy working environment and ensure that they have rewarding careers and job satisfaction.

  • We consider all staff members to be equal and we aim to create a working environment which is free of unlawful discrimination, fosters a sense of belonging, where we help each other to maintain a sensible work/life balance and where we always make having fun a priority.

Review

The CSR policy will be reviewed at least every 12 months.
