My career in technology began with hands‑on engineering roles that taught me the value of resilient infrastructure, disciplined standards, and clear communication.  Over time, this foundation evolved into senior leadership positions across legal, financial and professional services organisations.  Working at the intersection of IT leadership and information security governance, I have focused on building secure, scalable environments and guiding teams through significant operational and strategic change.

For more than half of my 30 plus years in IT management, I was the IT Director at Arthur Cox (one of Ireland’s leading law firms) where I held responsibility for the full ICT estate across all our international offices.  My remit spanned infrastructure, security, development and user support, managing a multi‑disciplinary team and a substantial annual budget.

During this period, I led major system implementations (including DMS, PMS and CRM), oversaw a full office relocation and chaired both the Information Security Oversight Committee and the firm’s IT Steering Group,  These roles shaped the firm’s technology strategy and its approach to risk, resilience, and service delivery.

My work in information security has deepened further in recent years, with a particular focus on ISO27001 certification and the development of mature governance frameworks.  I have supported corporates and public entities in strengthening their ISMS environments, preparing for certification and aligning policies, procedures and operational practices with evolving regulatory expectations.  This builds on a long‑standing interest in security architecture, vendor management and the practical realities of implementing controls in complex, high‑demand environments.

Across all positions, my focus has remained consistent: to create stable, secure and well‑governed technology environments that enable organisations to operate with confidence.  I enjoy working with leadership teams to translate business objectives into achievable technology strategies and I place strong emphasis on developing high‑performing teams, clear governance structures and long‑term supplier relationships.
